The holidays are over. Relatives have gone home. Decorations are put away. Life has more or less returned to normal. Now it’s time to start thinking about monsters once again!

I have been away for some time, partly due to illness, partly due to real life obligations. But I am feeling better now and ready to return.

My biggest project is to finish organizing my house rules into a three-book set, styled after the DM’s Guide, Player’s Handbook, and Monster Manual. I realize that everyone and their brother says that they want to do this, but I am quite serious and have already made great strides. If I accomplish nothing else, I hope it is to make this project a reality.

Blogging will obviously be the most apparent result of my return. I hope I will be inspired to post often and that I occasionally write something worth reading.

Maps are a great love of mine. Anyone who has read this blog regularly knows that I am a huge fan of ProFantasy and all of their map-making products. I peruse their forums regularly and and am frequently amazed by the wonderful maps people have created. I’ve always intended to create a library of maps for my download section: castles, taverns, villages, towns, encounter maps, etc. Hopefully, I can get motivated to turn that desire into a reality.

Miniatures are also a particular passion. Years ago, when I thought I had given up gaming, I disposed of my miniatures. Once I discovered my folly, I was set upon a quest to rebuild my miniatures collection. I’m happy to say that I have succeeded admirably in that regard. I now have many hundreds (thousands?) of miniatures, a workspace, paints, lights, brushes, solvents, and everything needed to create wondrous works of art. Now I just need to sit down and get started. I’m sure Jasmin (my cat) and I will have to come to an understanding regarding my workspace, but I’m looking forward to seeing what skills I can develop in the painting of miniatures.

Most importantly of all… I want to do some gaming! This is by far the most difficult objective to accomplish. Medical problems make it difficult to attend regular sessions, and long sessions are uncomfortable. But where there is a will, there is a way! So, I’m sure I’ll manage to get in some gaming if I really want to.

In any case, I’m back!
