Everywhere I look, I seem to be inundated with rounded corners on web sites. It’s a good look, but since everyone is doing it I initially chose to be different and avoid rounded corners on this site.

Lately, I’ve begun to think it is time for a redesign. I pulled the sidebar ads and made a few other changes a month or so ago. Now I’m toying with various ideas for a complete makeover.

In the interim, I thought I’d make a few cosmetic changes. Most noticeable is the addition of rounded corners on everything. I hate to give in and be like everyone else, but I do like the contemporary look it adds. Also, I noticed that I wasn’t identifying, on the navigation bar, which page was currently being displayed. You’ll notice that there is now a light red highlight around the appropriate navigation bar selection indicating where you are within the site.

What Do You Think?

The rounded corners on the thumbnails at the top right corner of each article seem like overkill to me. On the other hand, I think it looks odd to have rounded corners on everything else while leaving them square. Any thoughts?

I’d be happy to hear any comments or suggestions regarding the eventual redesign. I intentionally left the layout fairly simplistic as a subtle tie-in to the olden days of early D&D. I’m leaning towards keeping things in that vein but then again, it’s always fun to throw in some of the cool new bells and whistles that html5 and css3 make available.
